Ways you can participate in the ministries of the parish..

St. Tim’s Book Club

The St. Timothy’s Book Club is open to anyone interested in reading good books and talking about them in an informal atmosphere.  We meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m.  It is not necessary to come to every meeting to be part of this group.   If you find a book we are reading that you enjoyed, come for that discussion.  We welcome your input, suggestions and your company.  Every month we will list the books on our schedule with a short synopsis.  If it looks intriguing, please join us.

Episcopal Church Women (ECW)

The ECW is a national organization for women Episcopalians.  St. Timothy’s ECW offers to all women of the parish effective programs of worship, study, service, giving and fellowship.  All women of St. Timothy’s are members of the ECW and are welcome at all of its activities.  The Women’s Board governs St. Timothy’s ECW and meets the second Thursday of every month at 10:30 a.m.

Fellowship Committee

We have a very active fellowship schedule and truly enjoy each others company.  The Fellowship committee organizes fun activities so that the people of St. Timothy’s can share the spirit of joy and friendship in a social setting but still within the context of our Christian community.  If you have an idea for a great fellowship activity please come to a committee meeting and share your idea with us.  Meetings are posted in the Sunday bulletin and on our website calendar.  Please join us.

Lay Pastoral Commission

This body includes our Lay Visitors, our Kitchen Ministry and our Prayer Chain.  We assist the Rector to see that the people of St. Timothy’s receive the love and care of their church in the time of crisis or need.  The Lay Visitors visit and keep in contact with our members who are hospitalized, in nursing homes or are home bound.  Those in the Kitchen Ministry provide hot, home cooked meals to our members who are going through a life crisis as well as provide meals following funeral services.

The Prayer Chain is a volunteer group who committee to continual prayer for anyone in need.  The Prayer Chain chairperson updates the group on a regular basis to assure that names of individuals are current and information about their particular need is known.  Anyone can be a member of the prayer chain by contacting the chairperson or calling the church office.

New Member Ministry

This ministry is charged with devising ways to bring non-Christians, un-churched Christians, or lapsed members back into a relationship with Christ by inviting them into the community of St. Timothy’s Church.  They also welcome new members and visitors, make sure St. Timothy’s presents a warm and friendly atmosphere, and help new members become integrated into the life of the parish.
